My Ideal Client
My favorite clients are sensitive souls in transition, people who see where they are stuck but don't know how to get unstuck, and people who are willing to use their imaginations.
My Approach to Helping
I draw from Systemic, Emotionally-Focussed, Cognitive Behavioral and Narrative theories in my work. I begin therapy with creating a warm relationship as I get to know your current concern and past relationships. I investigate context and offer alternatives to unsatisfying patterns as we use current life examples and plan for long-term goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I graduated from the Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy Masters Program at Lewis and Clark College and have worked with individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings from residential treatment to research. My ongoing studies have included courses in sex therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness. In my personal life, I have been participating in an Anti-White Supremacy book and work group and have been learning as much as I can about Climate Change and my place within that work.
