My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Yoga Instructor with 15 years of experience working in community mental health clinics, hospital emergency departments, and university settings. I earned my BFA at NYU and my MSW from Hunter College, NYC. My clinical background is rooted in solution-focused, evidenced-based therapies including CBT, ACT, and EMDR. As a holistic practitioner I often integrate yoga, mindfulness, and meditation work into sessions as I believe that movement, breath, and focused attention can deepen our internal capacity for self-healing. I also have a background in the arts and love to incorporate art-based practices into healing work when appropriate.

Why I Became a Therapist

I am passionate about eating disorder recovery. I came into this work after recovering from my own eating disorder almost 20 years ago. Once I found myself on the other side, I realized I wanted to help others find their own path to freedom. I know first hand how difficult this process can be. If you're struggling, please know you're not alone. I'd love to support you in your recovery in any way I can.

I specialize in eating disorder recovery work. I believe full recovery is possible, but there isn’t one approach that works for everyone. My goal is to help you find your own unique path to healing. I often incorporate Health at Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating approaches, but I also enjoy getting creative and figuring out a framework that best serves you in your recovery process. There's no right or wrong way to recover. It's difficult work, but so worth it to get to the other side.
