My Ideal Client

Who I work with: thinkers, readers, existential crisis havers, people who keep getting told that they "need to stop intellectualizing their feelings," artists, ruminators, relationship navigators, critical thinkers, self-criticizers, closeted therapy skeptics, and those who are ready to start feeling a bit more alive.

How I Can Help You

I believe that most pathology stems from scarcity, and that our scarcity is not always obvious to us. We feel good when we have enough time, space, energy, money, mobility, information, and community. The first step is identifying what kind of scarcity you're experiencing. I believe that navigating scarcity makes us more creative (finding ways to make the most of the resources available) and compassionate (deep familiarity with one's own scarcity makes the scarcity of others more visible.) I believe that community is an especially important resource. Communities pool resources and give access to more time, space, energy, money, mobility, and information than we could ever secure on our own. Because of this, I believe in the healing power of relationships. Relational therapy involves investigating what might be interrupting your ability to experience a secure sense of community. It's working towards finding more belonging and feeling more at home.

My Approach to Helping

Therapy is not life, it's a dress rehearsal for life. My therapy style focuses on helping you connect deeply with others, manage conflict, maintain meaningful relationships, and put language to the parts of your experience you fear nobody can understand. The therapy space is a practice arena where you learn to cultivate belonging and feel a bit less alone. Therapy should be a space for you to explore your unique identity. I'm an LGBTQIA2+ advocate and ally, practice from a poly/ENM/kink-aware perspective, use a feminist/multicultural lens, and believe it is imperative to recognize systems of oppression in clinical work. I believe in the power of consistent, dependable, unfiltered relationships and prioritize rapport when working with clients. I believe in using evidence-based interventions to provide meaningful care.
