My Ideal Client

We all deserve lives full of joy, opportunity and love. Too often though, we all find ourselves in places or periods where these things are scarce, or blocked altogether, sometimes in ways that are out of our control. While I deeply enjoy working with a wide range of clients, I specialize in supporting individuals who find themselves in moments of scarcity hopelessness, or powerlessness, to build out lives with more meaning, space, and joy.

My Approach to Helping

Working from a stance of curiosity, compassion, and non-judgment, my hope is to partner with you in building the skills and tools to navigate whatever life throws at you. Through our work together, I will aim to support you in fostering the vulnerability to love yourself and others, the strength to approach pain, and the flexibility to touch meaning and passion even on your hardest days. My practice is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and other mindfulness-based approaches. With over a decade of experience providing counseling services, much of my work has focused on supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, survivors of violence and abuse, unhoused youth, and individuals struggling with self-harm and suicidality.

My Values as a Therapist

My most cherished values include community, compassion, self-determination, and joy and I strive to embody these as a provider. I am committed to engaging in anti-oppressive practices and actively work to uphold anti-racist, trauma-informed, sex-positive, and body-positive lens in my practice. The principles of Harm Reduction are important to me and central to the way I approach my work. If it sounds like I might be a good fit for you, give me a call or a text! We can schedule a consultation and talk through what you’re looking for. Alternatively, if you would like to know more about me, my background, or training before reaching out, feel free to check out my website linked on this page.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) External link

I have extensive advanced training in ACT and consider it my “therapeutic homebase.” I have received active regular mentorship and consultation in this modality for 8+ years.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

I have received intensive training and supervision in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and have previously worked in a full-fidelity DBT clinic. While I currently incorporate several elements of DBT into my practice, it is important to note that DBT, when practiced in its full form, is a multi-faceted approach that includes components such as group skills training and phone coaching, which are not part of the services I offer at this time.
