My Ideal Client

I have a passion for this work and supporting clients who are ready to move through their trauma and find joy. Some areas of focus that I am drawn to are childhood trauma and inner child work, gender and sexuality related issues, co-occurring disorders, depression, and stress related disorders. I have a heart in working with postpartum and infertility struggles because I understand the isolation and loneliness that come with trauma/loss during this time.

My Approach to Helping

I am an LPC and take a Person-Centered approach to therapy, so I act as a support and guide through the healing process. To work through unresolved trauma, I utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic exercises, and Mindfulness practices. These are evidenced-based tools that will allow you to become un-stuck and move forward with your goals. I am a Certified EMDR provider, meaning I have completed all EMDR trainings and have completed certification tasks proving my efficacy. I specialize in substance use disorders or co-occurring disorders as well and will provide additional coping skills for relapse prevention. I find that a lot of work can happen outside the therapy office and will recommend books, workbooks, journaling, and other tools to support further growth. I will work with you to create wellness goals and build a safe place to explore difficult feelings and thoughts.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone has the ability and inner knowing to guide themselves to personal fulfillment. I became a therapist because I have witnessed the strength in others as they navigated trauma and addiction, and wanted to be a safe person for anyone who is brave enough to start that process. Our life experiences can cause blocks and negative beliefs that no longer serve us, and as your therapist I will provide insight and support to move towards thriving. I highly value authenticity, respect, celebrating our uniqueness, and community. I am an LGBTQ+ ally and have training in ethical non-monogamy/kink culture.
