I work with adolescents, individual adults, and parents. I enjoy helping folks find new approaches for working with stress, anxiety, depression, adjustments to life transitions, and family-oriented relationship challenges. I often work with parents, helping them learn how to adjust their parenting approach to better meet the developmental needs of their adolescent/young adult. As a former athlete and coach, I love helping clients who are wanting to work on performance-related issues.
Specialties
The adolescent years are filled with immense physical, emotional, and cognitive change. While this developmental period is undoubtedly exciting, it can also present adolescents and families with newfound challenges. My previous experiences—as a therapist, coach, and teacher—have given me exposure to the unique challenges of adolescence.
Anxiety is a normal human reaction to stress, but it can become problematic when it gets in the way of our goals, ambitions, and day-to-day needs. I use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness practice to identify negative thoughts/judgments of our anxiety experience, and to regain control of how our body reacts to anxiety.

Adolescence can be a trying time, but it can also be a time of excitement and wonder. Parents can play a pivotal role in setting the tone for this important developmental period. Strive to enhance your own understanding of the adolescent developmental period so that you can frame your child’s emotional, physical, and behavioral changes within the context of normal human development.
