My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The basis of my training as a family therapist focused on systemic principles and practices. In essence this is a contrast to the individual-focused heath model, and instead emphasizes understanding and utilizing the context (i.e. relationships, societal and cultural factors, etc..) of our lives to make treatment more effect. My primary clinical emphasis is around treating emotional trauma, which I offer the treatment method of EMDR therapy for. I also have significant training and education in attachment theory, and attachment-related interventions. Additionally I enjoy working with and welcome members of all cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds into my practice. Included in my interests and training is work with members of the LGBTQ community.
