My Approach to Helping

I am no good to you, your family, or your community if I cannot provide some level of ease and safety in our work together. I value relationship above all. My extensive experience working with immigrants, refugees, wilderness programs and international students have shown me that talk is not the only route to resolve distress. In a world that often feels foreign I use my background in Sensorimotor therapy approaches to help you understand and navigate the terrain within and around you. You don't need to be fixed; you are not broken. You are living in a space which attempts to distance each of us from ourselves, our heritage, each other. Mental Health is a western term to describe universal issues, regardless of socioeconomic status or geography. I offer a rest stop that lets you understand the beauty in how far you have come and the tools you need for your next journey. There is important work to be done even in the dark places and there is no need to do it alone.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My practice is body-centered, culturally engaged, and justice driven. My lived experiences as a partner, sister, daughter, aunt, granddaughter of Holocaust migrants, and product of a multiracial family all enrich and deepen my work supporting others. My studies of sociology, anthropology, and public health form the foundation of of clinical care. My professional work with refugees, immigrants, indigenous youth, exchange students, and other folk from elsewhere ground me in social justice frameworks and a critical engagement with power and privilege in the therapy room.
