My Ideal Client

Those who are experiencing learning struggles, emotional and social difficulties and need the proper diagnosis to identify problems and develop appropriate interventions. Concerns whether ADHD, autism, learning disabilities or anxiety are answered through the evaluation. Clients and family attend an initial session to review history and talk about perceptions of the problem. Based on concerns, Dr. Field will guide the family to provide a thorough history and develop the assessment tests.

My Approach to Helping

Before one can receive effective treatment, a better idea of what are the basis of the problems and how to best help need to be established. If there are school related issues, Dr. Field will assist to develop interventions with school staff. Dealing with emotional issues, specific recommendations are made for the best therapeutic approach and if social issues exist, specific approaches will be recommended to fit the issues at hand. After more than 40 years of providing services and developing innovative therapeutic approaches (www.questcamps.com), Dr Field is best suited to provide a correct assessment.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My motivation to become a psychologist was based on my desire to "heal the world". Tikun Olam is the hebrew phrase of putting a priority of helping others and fixing injustices and help reduce pain. I have worked with thousands of families while in practice in Danville, CA and continue to be motivate to continue.

    Providing an accurate differential diagnosis of ADHD is more complicated than sending out rating forms to parents and teachers. It requires direct observation of an individual on a cognitive test to assure the proper diagnosis. Many symptoms of anxiety are very similar to ADHD and providing the wrong treatment can be harmful to the individual.
