My Background

I have worked as an outpatient Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2001. During my carrier as a registered nurse (RN) I worked at inpatient psychiatric units for adults and children as well as other areas of medicine throughout the hospital. The last several years of my RN career I worked as an ICU nurse.

Why I Became a Therapist

I had always wondered what made people "tick" and why some were happy while others sad. In my efforts to understand and learn to help others, I pursued a degree psychology in college but became a nurse at the same time. This dual approach to how the mind and brain/body work only enhanced my understanding and passion to help others. I truly love my work and enjoy working with a very diverse population of people from all genders, backgrounds, races, religions, and lifestyles, etc. I feel that connecting as partners in healthcare has made it easy to understand the uniqueness of each person needs and plan to help them grow and heal.
