My Ideal Client

I work with adult individuals and high conflict couples who are ready to embrace radical change and accountability in their lives. Over the years, I have worked with a diverse client population with a range of concerns. My clients tend to have experienced childhood trauma, attachment wounding, C-PTSD, BPD, Anxiety, Neurodiversity, relational concerns, poly/kink relationships, and life transitions. Some are also hoping to deepen their spiritual practice or connection to Nature.

My Approach to Helping

I believe that healing happens through connection. The therapeutic relationship is the medium through which we will practice communication, honesty, authenticity, vulnerability, safety, compassion, and mindful presence with one another. I believe that you, the client, are the expert of your own experience, and together we will curiously explore your emotional, physical, and spiritual experiences with intention. I align with Trauma Informed Care, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Somatic Psychotherapy which emphasize gentleness, Radical Authenticity, decreasing shame, compassion as a learnable skill, and honoring our mind-body experiences. I use DBT, Reality Integration, and Attachment Theory for my BPD clients and couples work. Additionally, my work is guided by Multicultural and Social Justice orientations, meaning that our work together will include exploration around your cultural identities and potential greater social systems at play.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Neurodivergent Therapist who has spent years healing from my own complex and relational trauma. As someone who has been both failed and supported by the system, I feel adept at managing the complexity and nuance of healing in a choatic world. I am very passionate about providing specialized trauma informed care to individuals & couples, as well as Neurodivergent folks (self-diagnosed, formally diagnosed, or curious). Often, my clients hold multiple intersections of identity and I enjoy being able to support them from a relational and systems framework. I engage in continuous ongoing education around my special interests and recurrent issues that my clients are facing. I am currently receiving training around RIT (Reality Integration Theory) for Borderline and Narcissistic Personalities. Healing relational wounding and building capacity for healthy relationships is at the heart of my work. Outdoor sessions are available for those interested in Ecotherapy or meeting in person.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Attachment Theory External link

Early childhood and relational experiences/trauma are at the heart of many mental health related diagnoses and symptoms. We will explore how you developed into the person you are today and if you have any behaviors or concerns that you would like to evolve from. We will practice relational ways of being together, so that you may start to experience relationships differently outside of therapy. We will build your capacity for self-trust, meaningful connection, and authentic expression.

  • Somatic Therapy (Body Centered) External link

I am currently receiving supervision from a Somatic Psychotherapy Mental Health Professional, and completed my internship program at a somatically oriented practice. Over the years, I have gained knowledge and experience in healing stored trauma in the body. My approach is slow and gentle, we will practice learning how to listen to your body's cues and innate wisdom. I believe that our bodies will always tell us the truth and that our minds will find ways to overthink almost anything.

  • EcoTherapy External link

Incorporating Nature into counseling does not necessarily mean that we have to go on a long hike together (although we could!). In fact, many of the ways in which I incorporate Nature into counseling can be done over Telehealth. We might explore your attachments towards geographical locations, discover activities that you find to be rejuvenating, or incorporate Nature into our mindfulness work. Therapy can be a dynamic space where we get creative together about your treatment.
