My Ideal Client

I am passionate about social justice advocacy and prioritize the experiences of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities when addressing mental health. I provide letters of support for gender-affirming surgeries and strive to make scheduling a consultation simple—just send a Google Meet invite using the calendar on my website. The most rewarding part of my work is helping people discover their own happiness and watching them grow more confident in who they are.

My Background and Approach

With experience in diverse settings such as inpatient psychiatric hospitals, community mental health, case management, and supported housing, I have gained valuable skills and resources. I understand that external systems often contribute to internal struggles and aim to empower clients by acknowledging the power dynamics in the counseling relationship. I focus on the parts of ourselves that may not have received the affirmation needed along our journey. By offering these younger parts compassion and understanding, healing can occur. I am deeply committed to social justice and continually seek ways to engage in advocacy. I believe that reducing oppression through systemic change and increased awareness fosters healthier, more inclusive communities.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I'm involved in advocacy and activism for the LGBTQ+ Community and support Black Lives Matter. I believe in treating each person with warmth, dignity and respect, while upholding the professional boundaries of the counseling relationship. I work from a broad theoretical background and approach care with a systemic lens. I aim to empower clients, and I understand that each individual has their own pace and path in the growth process. The Portland Metro area rests on traditional village sites of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River. I also acknowledge the systemic policies of genocide, relocation, and assimilation that still impact many Indigenous/Native American families today. I respect the work of Indigenous leaders and families, and pledge to make ongoing efforts recognize their knowledge, creativity, and resilience.
