My Ideal Client

Maybe life has been getting harder lately, maybe you feel overwhelmed and hopeless, and sometimes it can be hard to believe in anything. Maybe you feel unseen, unheard, or uncared for? Maybe you struggle to trust people, maybe you feel alone or worthless. But you're not alone; I am here to support you in your journey to healing and wellness. I work with people who experience symptoms of PTSD, Complex/Developmental Trauma, Anxiety, DID, depression, ADHD, Suicidal thoughts, and self-harm.

My Background and Approach

My approach is person-centered, social justice-informed, holistic, narrative, and systems-oriented. Sessions with me might include; talk therapy, art activities, the use of cognitive therapies to support specific symptom management, verbally processing your thoughts/feelings/experiences, and collaboration to identify what you need to move forward after traumatic experiences and/or in the wake of on-going trauma and injustice. My background: For over a decade, I have been honored to support people living with PTSD, complex PTSD, developmental trauma, historical and religious trauma, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, domestic violence, the LGBTQ+ community, depression, anxiety, dissociative disorders, bi-polar disorder, refugees, and grief/loss. I have worked in a number of settings, including advocacy for suicide prevention, crisis mental health services, community mental health, abuse intervention and preventative services, homeless services, and private group practices.

Why I Became a Therapist

I believe that everyone has the ability to recover. Healing is about working to achieve the lives we want to live, finding meaning in life and in our connections to others, the world around us, and most importantly, meaning within ourselves. I have chosen to specialize in trauma and complex trauma therapy because I believe that with the right support, compassion, and time people can process the things they have experienced and move forward; you have the power to change how you think, feel, and behave. It will take time, therapy takes time, but I strongly value the therapeutic process and relationship and will do my best to provide a space that feels comfortable and safe for you. We can't undo the past, we live with the pain of trauma and mental illness daily, but it doesn't have to define us. We can change and overcome symptoms of PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Mood disorders, DID, self-harm, and suicidality. I became a therapist to ensure that no one has to face their pain alone.
