My Ideal Client

Shannon has experience working with a diverse range of folks and aims to have her practice embrace diversity in gender, race, sexuality, abilities, and perspectives. Shannon has worked with folks from different backgrounds and across many areas including anxiety, depression, historic and relational trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, chronic health conditions, grief, psychosis, substance use, and more.

My Approach to Helping

Shannon has received training in multiple approaches which she uses in her practice including Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and Mindfulness-based practices. Shannon is currently part of a group studying Internal Family Systems and parts work to apply this lens and techniques to her approach. Shannon also understands healing through a somatic lens, centering the experience of our bodies and the wisdom they hold. Shannon will be working on becoming trained in EMDR and LI over the next 6 months.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a white person and a cis woman, Shannon seeks to educate herself regularly on anti-oppressive perspectives and approaches to inform how she works, and lives. Shannon is an active member of the LGBTQ+ community and this as well as a feminist lens is a guide to her life, her connections, and her work. Shannon’s goal is to build a collaborative space with you to work together and create a safe and non-judgemental space for your healing. During her free time, Shannon loves to be cozy at home with a book and a cup of tea, spend time with friends, play board games, go dancing, swimming, traveling, and spend as much time in nature as possible.
