I am certified in Relational Life Therapy, a model of couples therapy developed by Terry Real.
I utilize a range of mindfulness techniques, such as guided visualizations, various breathing techniques, reflective journaling, present moment sensory exploration and other body based techniques.
I draw from therapeutic models such as attachment theory, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, mentalization-based treatment, interpersonal neurobiology, nonviolent communication, narrative therapy, collaborative problem solving, emotional freedom technique and more. Additionally I am completing training and certification in the Healing Our Core Issues model (HOCI) which is focused on healing Developmental and Relational Trauma.
Specialties
I am a Certified Relational Life Therapy clinician. I work from this model as my foundation and encourage clients to become familiar with the work of Terry Real. We will look at your relationship(s) together, with curiosity and without judgment, to better understand the agonizing patterns that you find yourself in. We will then work from from the inside out and build new skills. I additionally have completed Training in Gottman Couples Therapy (levels 1, 2 and 3).
We all feel nervous and anxious sometimes, however many experience elevated states of anxiety in ways that interfere with getting through the day. It's exhausting, both mentally and physically. I have abundant training and knowledge about the somatic/nervous system manifestation of anxiety and will work with you from a body based as well as cognitive (aka thoughts) perspective to help you feel more confident about managing and resolving your anxiety.
I utilize a range of modalities to help address depression symptoms depending on the origin of your struggles and the techniques that resonate with you. We may explore cognitions using CBT, practice visualizations and mindfulness, examine family of origin roots of your feelings and focus on enhancing the quality of support within your relationships.
Self esteem is central to our well being and mental health. It is the life boat for survival during challenging times. I will help to identify and believe in your strengths and overcome old patterns of beating yourself up from the inside. I utilize the therapeutic relationship as well as attachment based treatment to increase insight into self and build strong sense of identity and self worth.
