My Approach to Helping

I use both talk-based and creativity-based approaches, depending on your needs and preferences. Some of the topics that I have helped people work with successfully are addiction, gender identity, anxiety, relationship challenges, and becoming happier and more fulfilled.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I invite you to take a look at my website for more information. You are welcome to contact me for a free initial meeting so that you can ask questions and/or tell me more about what you are looking for in therapy.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Eclectic External link

My thoughtful use of an eclectic approach to therapy enables me to draw from a number of useful techniques to help you. Having a range of tools in the toolbox means that I can more effectively help you identify your strengths, see your challenges from new and useful perspectives, and set useful goals that we will successfully work toward.

  • Expressive Art Therapy External link

I have a Masters degree in art therapy. However, now that I see clients only via telehealth, I use hands-on art therapy approaches less frequently. Nevertheless I am always interested in helping people find ways that creativity can support their happiness and well-being.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

If you are gay, bisexual, straight, or queer; if you are cisgender, trans, or gender fluid; if you identify in a way that you do not see named here-- I want you to feel welcome and respected in my practice.

  • Self-Esteem External link

Low self esteem can make it hard to believe that you even deserve to feel good, and to have support in getting to a stronger, happier place. Maybe you don't even believe it's possible. I have seen these positive changes happen many times, and I believe it can happen for you, too. I invite you to schedule a meeting to talk about working together to make things better.

  • Anxiety External link

Worrying has been described as using your creativity to imagine a future you do not want. Let's redirect that valuable creative energy and use it to help you feel calmer, safer, and more fulfilled. We'll also identify your other strengths and gifts and see how they can help you find peace and move through life's challenges.

  • Depression External link

You can become energized by finding your sense of purpose, connecting with people who see and support you, and nurturing the creative spark that I believe you have. If you are willing to try, we will find ways for you live a happier and more rewarding life.
