My Ideal Client
My primary area of focus is working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma recovery who are trying to navigate a world that doesn't always feel safe. I also provide one time sessions for those seeking gender affirming letters of support for insurance companies and use informed consent (www.icath.info)
My Approach to Helping
I practice from a trauma informed, humanistic, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based framework. I also draw from parts/systems work, relational, and narratives therapies and EMDR. I am committed to providing gender and identity affirming care that allows for safe exploration to become closer to your true self. I also have a strong focus in trauma recovery and how the brain and nervous system have learned to adapt to keep you safe. We will connect about how your experiences have shaped thoughts about yourself, behaviors, and emotions, and how these create barriers for the goals you have in your life. We will also explore and consider the impacts of systemic oppression on your identity and sense of self. I take a non-pathologizing approach to working my clients, with a particular focus on those with marginalized identities. I wholeheartedly believe in your ability to be more connected with yourself and am excited to be with you on your journey.
