My Ideal Client

My philosophical approach to psychotherapy includes a depth psychodynamic interpretation of mental health and emotional processes rooted in psychoanalysis which aims to address the foundation and formulation of the psychological process with the goal of reducing symptoms and improving people’s lives. My role as a therapist is to help people gain insight into their lives and current problems by evaluating and reviewing cognitive and behavioral patterns that include emotions, thoughts, early life

My Approach to Helping

I am a graduate of Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, California. I currently hold a Master of Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in Depth Psychology degree (MFT). I am also a certified practitioner in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I am a trauma-informed clinician working through a structural family and ecological systems perspective. I use the science-informed Polyvagal Theory in helping my clients learn and understand their own nervous system survival responses increasing their ability to safely connect with others. Using evidence-based psycho education and exercises clients will learn tools to help manage mood states, relational difficulties, symptoms of anxiety and depression, and other manifestations of past relational and event traumas. I have completed MAPS-Certified MDMA-Assisted Therapy Practitioner training and Fluence's Psilocybin-Assisted Facilitator training programs. I am a licensed Psilocybin Facilitator.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My Philosophical approach to Psychotherapy includes a psychodynamic interpretation of mental and emotional processes rooted in psychoanalysis drawing from object relations, ego psychology and self psychology which aims to address the foundation and formulation of the psychological processes with the goal of reducing symptoms and improving people’s lives. My role as a therapist is to help people gain insight into their lives and current problems by evaluating and reviewing patterns that include emotions, thoughts, early life experience, and beliefs. Recognizing these patterns help people see how they avoid distress or develop defense mechanisms to cope. I believe these insights can allow for lasting change.

Depth psychology proposes that the psychic process is partially conscious, unconscious, and semi-conscious. In practice, a depth therapist seeks to explore the thoughts, feelings, and motivations that lie at each level as a way to connect with the roots of the experience of malady that may include therapeutic traditions that explores the unconscious and involves the study and exploration of dreams, complexes, and archetypes. Depth Psychology is based on the theories of Carl Gustav Jung.
