My Ideal Client
When we are hurting -- whether it be from a break-up, trauma, physical illness, or the protracted stress from the pandemic -- we can feel so alone. The world is not always easy on us and being human is hard! When it gets to be too much, having a dedicated space where we feel safe, accepted, and nurtured can bring immense relief.
My Approach to Helping
Attachment-oriented, I draw from training in psychodynamic theory to promote resilience, adaptation and emotional freedom. My work is not centered on symptom-reduction, but is focused more on getting to the roots of your turmoil and transforming your relationship to yourself in order to find relief. I bring mindfulness and body-based awareness into nearly every session, trusting and honoring somatic wisdom. I am certified in EMDR with advanced training in Flash Technique, both of which are effective via video visits.
My Values as a Therapist
I am diligent in my work to be trauma-responsive, gender and identity-affirming, and anti-racist. In interrogate my own biases and participate monthly in individual and group consultation to ensure my work is consistent with the values I hold as a person and as a professional social worker. I strive for the day where all of us can celebrate seeking care for our whole selves, body, mind and spirit.
