My Ideal Client

Do you feel stuck in your relationships, friendships, career, or personal goals? Our emotional barriers often have their roots in strategies we learned early in life to get us through difficult or painful experiences with others. I love helping you uncover these issues, exploring how they affect you in the present, and helping create a road map for change. As stuck as we may feel sometimes, change is always possible!

My Approach to Helping

We all have inner strengths to draw on in our quest for growth. A trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship can be one of the most powerful tools to tap into these strengths and use them to work toward your personal goals. I integrate Object Relations, Internal Family Systems, and Emotionally-Focused Couple's Therapy in my work, with the goal of providing you with a safe, accepting, and nurturing space to work through unhelpful patterns and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others. I earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2017), and Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2020) from Portland State University. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern, and am supervised by Sarah Williams, MA, LMFT, and Deanna Cor, PhD, LPC.

Why I Became a Therapist

I have always had a passion for what connects us to one another. For over 30 years I expressed this through music, both as a music producer and performing musician. The most meaningful musical work I did always came from the more intimate spaces, helping to create moments where an artist's emotions could connect most directly with listeners. As I explored ideas for a new career, counseling felt like the most natural evolution of what I had always tried to achieve through music: helping people bring powerful emotions, whatever they may be, to the foreground. As a counselor, my greatest joy comes from providing the safety and trust needed for people to engage with and accept the parts of us we may find painful, neglected, or rejected so that we can carry them forward with us with compassion and validation.
