My Ideal Client

It can feel overwhelming and hopeless trying to deal with life’s many curveballs, especially when you feel misunderstood, fall behind, or fall through the cracks. I see therapy as a space where we can exercise the weird paradox of accepting where we are and what we’ve dealt with while striving for growth and change. Healing can happen when we see our challenges as approaches that may have helped us to adapt to the world, and we can glean strength and tools from that compassionate understanding.

My Background and Approach

I am a graduate student intern in the Professional Mental Health Counseling Program at Lewis and Clark College. My core areas of interest include queer and BIPOC identities, neurodivergence (ADHD, OCD, autism), trauma, leaving religion, anxiety and depression. My interests reflect my identity as a genderqueer/non-binary and Asian-American immigrant, and I strive to provide understanding and bridge the gaps in care in underserved communities. I also strive to support and create the space of compassion through establishing trust, connection and with gentle challenges, emphasizing collaboration to create goals and strategies that meet you where you are. If you are someone seeking to have a voice in the direction of their treatment and want see non-judgment modeled to foster their self-compassion, I hope to be a part of your journey. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, I welcome your outreach to my program email.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Some theories that influence my approach include mindfulness-based therapies like acceptance and commitment therapy, parts work/internal family systems, and somatic therapy. I am body-positive, sex-positive, poly and kink-affirming. As someone who has dealt with the challenges and complexities of having multiple minority identities, I can relate to the experience of falling through the cracks and feeling lost. I hope to be in your corner to figure out the tools for navigation. Outside of therapeutic training, I like to explore new activities and restaurants in the city, consuming Asian media like Kpop and manhwas/manhuas, and writing fiction novellas.
