My Approach to Helping

I aim to create safe and supportive spaces where we can explore difficult emotions and experiences together. My goal is to help you gain perspective on the stressors in your life and develop effective ways to navigate them. I value a strengths-based and collaborative approach to helping, so that we can draw on the abilities and resilience you already have. My work is informed by a variety of therapeutic techniques, including relational therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and attachment theory. I also have training in skill-based interventions including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, or other challenges, I’m here to support you.

My Values as a Therapist

As a Mexican-American woman, I'm open to working with individuals from all backgrounds, with a particular focus on supporting BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from Portland State University in June 2021 and have provided mental health support in outpatient and school settings. Additionally, I have experience with community organizations and within the foster care and child welfare systems. These experiences have provided me with a systems-based lens to understand and address the complex needs of individuals and communities. I'm committed to promoting social justice, advocating for equitable access to resources, and empowering those who have been historically marginalized to create positive, lasting change in their lives.
