My Ideal Client

Are often facing big questions and change in their lives. They are exploring their identities, learning new coping strategies for stressful life transitions such as adjusting to single life after a break up, career changes, moving from student to worker, retirement, gender transition, relocation, or coming out. My clients are often also dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma or other issues on top of big changes. I'm here to help..

My Approach to Helping

My main goal in therapy is to help my clients find the personal empowerment to live their best most authentic lives. I have over 20 years experience helping my clients develop the tools they need to assert themselves in their lives. I use an existential approach and believe that finding meaning in our daily activities and relationships is essential to thrive. I help my clients explore their identities, values and beliefs about themselves and others and how those each effect how they interact with and find satisfaction within their lives.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe it is never too late to explore yourself. It's never too late to do something different. As a late transitioner, I know the difficulties of being trans, in the closet and afraid. I started transitioning as an older adult and understand the barriers to making such a big change as an established person. I understand first hand transphobia and the challenges my clients face because I've faced them too. I know the anxiety and fear (and hope) the first time you go out into the world presenting as yourself. I know the euphoria of being called the correct pronouns. I know the bureaucracies we have to navigate just to get our names and gender markers to reflect us. I have and continue to do my own personal work to live my most authentic empowered life. I can relate with the issues you bring and can help you explore yourself and your world in a new way.
