Specialties
Mindfulness is a necessary practice in our modern world, where we can easily feel overwhelmed, confused and frustrated. Maintaining awareness of our body, our thoughts, and the impact of our thoughts on our behavior and relationships supports us to stay grounded. With years of experience practicing and teaching meditation, I share powerful tools to help my clients build their own practice.
Since childhood, nature has been my sanctuary for creative exploration and healing. As a psychotherapist, the majority of my practice occurs either out-of-doors or within an elegant yurt sanctuary at my retreat space in Portland's NW Hills. I have seen dramatic positive changes unfold as we allow ourselves to learn from and interact with the natural world.
Specialties
Depression is often experienced as feeling separate from the world as if you are all alone, or the heavy weight of apathy and fatigue. I address depression with curiosity, sensitivity, and care utilizing a variety of therapeutic approaches focusing on empowerment and understanding. The clients I have treated for depression have expressed how counseling has brought them hopefulness and deep peace.
My unique professional experience with nature-based therapy and Cross-Cutural Music and Sound Healing offers helpful alternatives to conventional approaches. Treating anxiety is about cultivating safety in your body and mind. I will show you how to develop a loving, supportive relationship with your self.
You are not alone if you're experiencing a heightened sense of fear, isolation, anxiety or depression at this time. Somatic and mindfulness approaches to therapy are very helpful in times of overwhelm and crisis, and I am here to support you in these ways.
Having experienced my own health challenges in the past, I can empathize with the frustration and isolation of physical pain and illness. However, as you deepen your relationship with your body, you will connect with a deeper, healing essence that resides within us all. This has been true for me, and can also be true for you.
